Okay, so apparently now I only make art quilts that feature things Joss Whedon wrote. And that Nathan Fillion said. It’s weird. Honestly, I’m not obsessed with that show (anymore)! But it’s a good saying for the spunky rebel in all of us, geeky or not, right?
Moving on:
I took a manly, manly quote and girlified it up with swoopy cursive hand cut letters.
Because what is more fun than taking a beloved quote, scrunching it up, and putting your own weird spin on it? Nothing.
For some reason, I have the hardest time remembering to sign my quilts. I’ve never liked signing my work, so that’s probably why. I only remembered to sign this one after I took the original photos of the back and listed it in my shop. Oh, frustrating, totally avoidable detours!
I’m happy with what I’ve come up with for these smaller art quilts though. I stamp most of the details, and then sign my name with free motion stitching on the sewing machine. It works.
Misbehave is now in the shop, both the original and a print. Have I mentioned the process of making prints out of larger scale fabric art? Someday, I will write a tutorial about stitching together scans of fabric in Photoshop, and it will just say “AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!” And probably have a picture of someone banging their head on a desk. Probably me.
